Heart Rhythm Clinic in La Crosse
Electrophysiology (EP) is a specialized field of cardiology focusing on diagnosing and treating heart rhythm disturbances. During an EP study, electrodes are guided through blood vessels to your heart and used to test the function of your heart's electrical system. This can identify whether you have or may develop heart rhythm problems.
An EP procedure called an ablation can correct heart rhythm problems, or arrhythmias. Ablation typically uses long, flexible tubes, or catheters, inserted through a vein in your groin and threaded to your heart to correct structural problems in your heart that cause an arrhythmia.
Mayo Clinic Health System provides a full range of services for patients who also may need implanted pacemakers, defibrillators or biventricular devices.
