Eat Smarter
The word diet comes from the Greek word “diaita,” which means “way of life,” according to encyclopedia.com. When you think of “going on a diet,” you should consider how you want to live and nourish your body. Consider following a way of life full of healthy and nutritious foods. This will help protect your body from chronic noncommunicable diseases like heart disease, diabetes and cancer.

Print the activity sheet or save it to your desktop to digitally track. It can be used individually or as a group. Here are some ideas for using this with a group:- Pair up to complete the rainbow. Challenge your partner to try new things and offer suggestions.
- Try fruits and vegetables as a group. Group members can sign up to bring a specific color to a group gathering so everyone can try more options. Perhaps this happens during a special “Eat the Rainbow” week or every Friday for several weeks.
- Reward group members who check off every color. Perhaps you give successful participants a prize or enter them into a prize drawing.
- Find an accountability partner or small group to ensure you are following through. Compare notes. Swap ideas.
