I take a patient-centered approach to meet my patients where they're at during the assessment and treatment phases of therapy. Therapy should be a nonjudgmental space for them to feel safe and build trust to work through the thoughts and situations they may otherwise feel unable to share.
I want to make sure patients are connected with the right services and mental health provider to meet the goals they are wanting to reach. Working in pediatrics oftentimes takes both the patient and their family working together for sustainable change and encouragement to keep moving forward.
I have been in the mental health field since the end of 2006, and I continue to learn and adapt to the ongoing mental health needs of children and their families. In the past, I have worked in residential group homes and family-based positions providing clinical services in the home and community with children of all ages. I am passionate about my work and being a resource to help my patients achieve their goals. I started working for Mayo Clinic Health System in February of 2017 and moved into a pediatric-specific role in October of 2023.
Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my spouse, our children and our very energetic dogs.
