Waseca Emergency Department renovation completed
WASECA, Minn. ― Mayo Clinic Health System in Waseca recently completed a $4.2 million expansion and renovation project within the Emergency Department (ED).
The project was partially funded by a generous donation from Paul G. and Susan R. Rosenau.
The Emergency Department renovation includes:
- Enhanced floor plan to improve patient flow and increase efficiency
- A new wing of exam and treatment rooms
- A new multifunctional ambulance garage
- Improved patient and emergency vehicle entry points
- Renovation and modernization of existing space
- Design features to improve patient and staff safety
The Emergency Department remained fully operational throughout the renovation, which started in June 2022.
"Mayo Clinic Health System is committed to ensuring patients in Waseca and the surrounding area have access to Mayo Clinic care close to home within a modernized and state-of-the-art ED," says Martin Herrmann, M.D., medical director, Mayo Clinic Health System in Waseca. "The completion of the ED renovation marks an important milestone for our hospital and enhances our ability to deliver efficient, high-quality care to our patients."
Since the Emergency Department is a 24/7/365 functional patient care space, an open house and tours were not offered to staff or the public.
