When you have diabetes, you discover that there is a lot to learn. You may have questions about nutrition and meal planning, physical activity, blood glucose monitoring or medications including insulin injections.
Our goal is to teach you and your family how to manage your disease. We believe that through knowledge and support you can achieve healthy living and greater independence.
We offer individual and group classes for people with diabetes and their families, including:
Type 1 diabetes
Type 2 diabetes
Gestational diabetes
Insulin adjustments
Continuous subcutaneous insulin infusion (insulin pump) instruction and initiation
Continuous glucose monitoring
The diabetes patient education program has been awarded recognition by the American Diabetes Association in accordance with the national standards for diabetes patient education programs.
We are located in the Patient Resource Center, west of the information desk in the lobby.
