Conditions and consultations
The team offers consultations and personal treatment plans for a variety of common conditions. For some conditions, age ranges will apply. You also may be asked to schedule an in-person visit for some services.
Express Care
These conditions can be seen when presenting in person or virtually through Express Care:

- Bladder infections (females, ages 12–75)
- Cold sores
- Cold symptoms
- Constipation
- Dental issues
- Diarrhea

- Minor burns
- Minor skin infection

- Pink eye (conjunctivitis)

- Sinus symptoms/Sinusitis
- Sore throat

- Travel-related motion sickness
- Vaginal yeast infection (females, ages 18–65)

Diagnosis and treatments
Express Care
Same-day, in-person and virtual appointments are available in select locations. Schedule appointments through the patient portal or by calling your primary care provider. The treatment model may vary by location.
Our experienced, advanced practice providers offer:
- Ear wash*
- Medication renewal (short-term, nonnarcotic)
- Minor burn care
- Oral contraceptives prescriptions (new prescriptions only, females ages 18–34)
- Pregnancy testing (urine)*
- Prescriptions for common conditions, such as antibiotics and eye drops
- Smoking cessation support for adults
- Sports or camp exams (ages 11–24)*
- Suture removal*
- Tuberculosis (TB) skin testing and test reading*
- Wart removal (up to 4 warts per visit)*
- Vaccinations*:
- Hepatitis A and B (adult only)
- HPV
- Influenza (flu)
- Meningococcal ACWY
- Meningitis B
- Pneumococcal
- Shingles (Zoster)
- Tetanus-diphtheria-acellular pertussis (Tdap)

Express Care Online
Virtual consultations are available through the patient portal. Answer a diagnostic questionnaire on the patient portal, and receive a written care recommendation within one hour, if submitted between 8 a.m. and 7 p.m. If you submit after hours, you'll be contacted by 9 a.m. the next day. Some written responses may require you to follow up with an in-person or virtual appointment.
The cost of an appointment for Mayo Clinic Express Care Online may be partially or completely covered by your insurance. Check with your insurance provider today. To access this service, log on to the patient portal.
Express Care specialists
The team of nurse practitioners and physician assistants work to resolve your health concerns and refer you to other specialties as needed.

What should I bring for my first appointment?
For your appointment, bring your current prescription and health insurance information.
What are my payment options, and do you offer financial assistance?
Visit the billing page of your preferred location for information on insurance, billing and payments. We serve patients in difficult financial circumstances and offer financial assistance to those who have an established need to receive medically necessary services. Do you have an after-hours number in case of emergency?

Check symptoms to reduce worry
Check Symptoms is a free online symptom evaluation tool available 24/7/365. It can give you peace of mind when symptoms start to worry you. Located within Mayo Clinic's patient portal, it allows you to answer a series of targeted questions to evaluate your symptoms and receive a care recommendation.
