Programs

La Crosse-Mayo Family Medicine Residency
The La Crosse-Mayo Family Medicine Residency is one of the most recognized training programs for family physicians in the Upper Midwest. The program has been the source of many family physicians who now practice in many communities in our area.

Franciscan Healthcare School of Anesthesia
The School of Anesthesia is a joint program of Mayo Clinic Health System Franciscan Healthcare and the University of Wisconsin - La Crosse and is the only one if its kind in the state of Wisconsin. A 27-month program leading to a Master of Science degree and certification as Registered Nurse Anesthetist. 

Pharmacy Residency
PGY1 pharmacy residency programs build on Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) education and outcomes to contribute to the development of clinical pharmacists responsible for medication-related care of patients with a wide range of conditions, eligible for board certification, and eligible for postgraduate year two (PGY2) pharmacy residency training.

Nursing and Allied Health Clinical Experiences
Clinical experiences in the health care setting are an integral part of the education process and Franciscan Healthcare is pleased to partner with academic institutions to support these experiences.


Mayo Clinic Health System – Franciscan Healthcare is a founding partner of the La Crosse Medical Health Science Consortium and participates in the Center's research and health advancement efforts.


Professional Education Events

Cardiology Conference for Healthcare Professionals
This program is specifically planned to meet the needs of physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, nurses and all healthcare professionals who are dedicated to providing the best possible care for patients with cardiovascular disease in the primary care setting. It will be held Friday and Saturday, October 21-22, 2016 at the Kalahari Resort, Wisconsin Dells, Wis.

La Crosse Child Maltreatment Conference 2017
This nationally recognized conference addresses strategies the multidisciplinary team can use to intervene when child maltreatment is reported, collaborate with community and family to protect children, and ensure justice for child victims of abuse/neglect. The 2017 conference will focus on current issues in child maltreatment including human trafficking and trauma and children's behaviors with an impressive speaker line-up.

Fetal Monitoring Classes 2017
The Mayo Clinic Health System Regional Perinatal Center at Franciscan Healthcare in La Crosse is collaborating with the Wisconsin Association for Perinatal Care (WAPC) and the Association of Women's Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses (AWHONN) to offer a series of three courses (basic, intermediate and advanced fetal heart monitoring) at the Mayo Clinic Health System - Franciscan Healthcare Family Birthplace in La Crosse. The courses are offered multiple times across 2017.
