ST. JAMES, Minn. — Starting Feb. 6, Jonathan Buchholz, M.D., will begin providing Obstetrics and Gynecology (OB-GYN) services to patients at Mayo Clinic Health System in St. James. As an OB-GYN provider, Dr. Buchholz offers women’s health services, including preventive health screenings, menstrual concerns, pelvic symptoms or pain, and prenatal care. Dr. Buchholz will see patients every other Tuesday in St. James.
“I’m excited for the opportunity to provide this service,” says Dr. Buchholz. “Working with Mayo Clinic connects me and my patients to a world-class network of education and knowledge.”
Originally from South Dakota, Dr. Buchholz completed his training at Sanford School of Medicine in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. He later finished his internship and, most recently, his residency in obstetrics and gynecology at Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center in Shreveport, Louisiana. He is a member of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology.
“I appreciate that OB-GYN care provides me with a good mix of both clinical and surgical opportunities to see patients,” says Dr. Buchholz. “The best part of my job, however, is helping be a part of the magical moment of childbirth.”
“We’re pleased to welcome Dr. Buchholz to our OB-GYN team,” says Jen Langbehn, D.O., Mayo Clinic Health System in St. James medical director. “It’s exciting to expand on the great care we provide to women in St. James.”
Dr. Buchholz says his professional interests include family planning, contraception, infertility and pregnancy with pre-existing hypertension or diabetes.
