OWATONNA, Minn. —Beginning Wednesday, Feb. 6, patients who need care for minor illnesses and injuries can schedule an appointment in the Same Day Clinic at Mayo Clinic Health System in Owatonna. Appointments are available Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
“Our goal is to provide better access and more convenience to patients who need same-day care,” says Jason Wray-Raabolle, M.D., a Family Medicine physician at Mayo Clinic Health System in Owatonna. “By giving patients various options for care, the patient can choose the option that best meets their health care needs whether it is Express Care online, 24/7 Nurse Line or an on-site appointment.”
Same Day Clinic provides same-day treatment for those age 6 months and older for minor health concerns such as:
- Colds and flu including fevers, coughs, sore throats and ear aches
- Scrapes and cuts
- Minor burns, including sunburn
- Skin conditions including rashes, poison ivy and insect bites
- Vomiting and diarrhea
- Pregnancy test
In addition, patients can have their health maintenance needs reviewed at the time of their visit in the Same Day Clinic. If follow-up care is needed, patients can schedule a future visit with a member of their care team in the primary care setting.
Located on the 1st floor of the clinic, the Same Day Clinic is open 8 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. Monday through Saturday and Sunday 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Patients are encouraged to call 507-451-1120 for a Same Day Clinic appointment; however, walk-ins are available on a first-come, first-serve basis.
