New Prague welcomes new urologist
NEW PRAGUE, Minn. —Mayo Clinic Health System in New Prague recently announced that Ken Smith, M.D., Ph.D, began providing urology services in New Prague every Wednesday starting Feb. 7. As a urologist, Dr. Smith specializes in diagnosing and treating adults who have issues with kidney stones, blood in their urine, prostate and urinary issues, genital and urinary masses and cancers and a wide range of other urologic problems.
Dr. Smith received his training at the University of Illinois at Chicago in Chicago, Illinois. He later completed his residency at the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
Dr. Smith is a Diplomate of the American Board of Urology and a member of the American Urological Association and Minnesota Urological Society.
“It may be difficult for people to discuss their urology issues,” says Dr. Smith. “I want my patients to feel comfortable coming to me with their concerns. My job is to find the answers that can help them.”
“Having the opportunity to seek care for urology services where you live is important,” says Marty Herrmann, M.D., Mayo Clinic Health System in New Prague medical director. “We’re pleased to welcome Dr. Smith and expand the scope of specialty care we provide to our community.”
