NEW PRAGUE, Minn. — Mayo Clinic Health System’s continued commitment to the community is showcased in the completion of the $1.2 million Women’s and Children’s remodel and expansion project. The new clinic space will be home to the Obstetrics and Gynecology (OB-GYN) and Pediatric and Adolescent Medicine Departments.
After nearly three years of planning and designing, the newly remodeled space within Mayo Clinic Health System in New Prague opened for patient care on Oct. 2. A grand opening celebration for staff and community partners was held on Oct. 30.
The 9,000 square feet of newly remodeled space was designed to:
- Increase the number of exam rooms by 12, and also add an additional procedure room
- Improve the check-in process and flow of services for patients
- Increase staff work spaces to increase efficiencies
- Create a separate waiting space for pediatric patients
Other features of the remodeled space include new flooring, ceilings, lighting, furniture and interior finishes.
“As our community continues to grow and change, one of our goals is to offer patients the care they expect to receive in an efficient and inviting environment close to home,” says James Hebl, M.D., Mayo Clinic Health System regional vice president. “The new space will allow our staff to optimally serve our patients.”
