ST. PETER, Minn. — Jordyn Zdrazil, nurse practitioner, is the newest member of the family medicine team at Mayo Clinic Health System in St. Peter. As a family medicine provider, Zdrazil helps care for people of all ages with preventive treatment and illness evaluation. She started seeing patients July 2.
“I’ve always wanted to work in medicine,” says Zdrazil. “Having witnessed the care my own family members received at critical moments in their lives motivated me to want to help others in need.”
Originally from Pocahontas, Iowa, Zdrazil received her training at Simmons College in Boston, Massachusetts, where she earned her Master of Science in Nursing – Family Nurse Practitioner. Prior to joining Family Medicine at Mayo Clinic Health System in St. Peter, Zdrazil worked as a nurse at Pocahontas Community Hospital for four years, and later as a Clinical Nursing Instructor at Iowa Central Community College in Fort Dodge, IA. She is a member of the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners.
“My job is to advocate for my patients,” says Zdrazil. “Developing a relationship of trust is critical. I want to be known as a great listener who works to understand each patient’s individual needs.”
“We are excited to welcome Jordyn to our expanded family medicine services here in St. Peter,” says Kimberly Beecher, M.D., medical director of Mayo Clinic Health System in St. Peter. “Offering this and other preventive care services to patients reinforces the commitment we have to keeping our communities healthy.”
Zdrazil says her professional interests include preventive care for all ages, which includes gerontology care for older patients and pediatric care for young patients.
