FAIRMONT, Minn. — Tracy Mitchell, nurse practitioner, is the newest member of the family medicine team at Mayo Clinic Health System in Fairmont. As a family medicine provider, Mitchell helps care for people of all ages with preventive treatment and illness evaluation. She started seeing patients Aug. 14.
“I grew up in the Fairmont area and started my nursing career here at the hospital before leaving to complete graduate school,” says Mitchell. “Having the opportunity to return to Mayo Clinic in Fairmont and provide care to the people in this community and the surrounding area is exciting for me.”
Mitchell earned her Bachelor of Science in nursing from South Dakota State University in Brookings, South Dakota. She later received her Master of Science in nursing family nurse practitioner from Clarkson College in Omaha, Nebraska. Prior to joining Mayo Clinic Health System, Mitchell worked as a family nurse practitioner for Sanford Health in Worthington, Minnesota.
“I enjoy providing a wide range of care to patients of all ages,” says Mitchell. “Looking at the whole picture of a person’s health and working to build a relationship with the patient to deliver the care they want and need is something I strive for in my practice.”
