ALBERT LEA and AUSTIN, Minn. — Mayo Clinic Health System – Albert Lea and Austin is pleased to welcome seven new providers to their health care team on both campuses.
Five of these new providers are joining the Family Medicine Department, including Amy Stier, Certified Nurse Practitioner; Shaina Archer, Certified Nurse Practitioner; Heather Talley, M.D.; John Halerz, M.D.; and Seng Yue Joshua Foong, D.O.
Stier received her Master of Science in Nursing at Graceland University in Independence, Missouri. Her professional interests include maintaining health and preventing disease in all ages and striving to ensure all patients understand their diagnosis and empower them to take control where they are able.
Dr. Talley completed her medical degree and residency at the Mayo Clinic Graduate School of Medicine in Rochester, Minnesota. Her professional interests include women’s health, prenatal care, pediatrics, and chronic disease management and prevention.
Dr. Halerz, M.D., completed his medical degree at Loyola University in Chicago, Illinois, and residency at Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, Illinois.
Stier, Dr. Talley and Dr. Halerz are seeing family medicine patients on the Austin campus.
Dr. Foong, D.O., completed his medical degree at the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and completed residency at the Jefferson Health Northeast Medical Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. His professional interests include preventive medicine and mental health.
Archer received her Master of Science in Nursing at Briar Cliff University in Sioux City, Iowa. Her professional interests include mental health and pediatric and geriatric care.
Dr. Foong and Archer are seeing family medicine patients primarily on the Albert Lea campus.

In addition to the five new Family Medicine Department providers, the following physicians joined Mayo Clinic Health System’s Emergency Medicine and Radiology Departments in Albert Lea and Austin.
Kimberly Lovik, M.D., sees patients in Albert Lea and Austin’s Emergency Department. Dr. Lovik received her medical degree from the University of Iowa Roy J. and Lucille A. Carver College of Medicine in Iowa City, Iowa, and completed Emergency Medicine residency at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. Dr. Lovik’s professional interests include improving care of medically complex children and improving community services of special needs populations.
James Bisanti, M.D., joined the Radiology Department in Albert Lea and Austin. He completed his medical degree and residency at the University of Nebraska Medical Center, College of Medicine in Omaha, Nebraska.
