BARRON, Wis. — Beginning July 10, Mayo Clinic Health System – Northland in Barron will offer MRI scans within the Radiology Department instead of through a mobile service as has been done for the past 14 years.
An MRI provides high-resolution images of the inside of the body that help diagnose a variety of problems.
“Having an in-house MRI scanner is going to be wonderful for our patients,” says Lori Turauski, Radiology director. “This service will improve the quality of care and increase access for our patients to five days per week.”
“This is the newest generation MRI system — identical to the system at Mayo Clinic in Rochester,” says radiologist Christopher Lindsay, M.D. “We worked collaboratively with Rochester and are grateful we can offer this service to our patients locally, in the comfort of our own facility.”
