RED WING, Minn. — Gregory Erickson, M.D., an orthopedic surgeon, joined the orthopedics team at Mayo Clinic Health System in Red Wing in early September.
Dr. Erickson earned his medical degree at Wake Forest University School of Medicine in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. He completed his residency in orthopedics at UC-Davis Medical Center in Sacramento, California and a sports medicine fellowship at University of Utah in Salt Lake City, Utah. He is board-certified by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery.
Dr. Erickson has a passion for sports medicine and sports related injuries. He also enjoys shoulder, hip and knee arthroscopy with special interest in rotator cuff tears, shoulder instability, hip preservation, as well as knee ligament, cartilage and meniscal injuries.
“I am looking forward to providing quality care in all aspects of orthopedics, while developing a niche in sports medicine,” says, Dr. Erickson. “At the end of the day, my ultimate goal is to help patients return to their normal level of activity after an injury.”
In his free time, Dr. Erickson enjoy spending time with his wife and children and staying active by skiing, cycling and running.
