BARRON, Wis. — When Shannon Brown, M.D., heads into a delivery room, she usually is there to help someone deliver their baby. The tables turned on Jan. 2, when Dr. Brown, a family medicine physician at Mayo Clinic Health System – Northland in Rice Lake, went into labor herself.
Dr. Brown and her husband, Brandon Brown, welcomed their son, Liam David Brown, at 9:36 p.m., who is the first baby born at Mayo Clinic Health System – Northland in Barron in 2018.
Liam weighed in at 7 pounds, 5 ounces, and was 20 inches long. His due date was Dec. 26.
“While he was a week late, it all worked out for the best,” says Dr. Brown.
Liam is the first child for Dr. Brown. Brandon Brown has another son, Braeden, age 11.
