The rate of opioid overdose deaths doubled in Wisconsin from 2006 to 2015. La Crosse County alone had 23 opioid related deaths in 2016, the most ever. The human and financial toll is even more staggering when you consider the entire U.S.
To help combat this problem, Mayo Clinic Health System – Franciscan Healthcare will be providing opioid abuse education to community members at no charge. This course is one component within a comprehensive statewide strategy to address prescription drug abuse in the best interest of public health and safety.
