Our cardiologists and surgeons have been implanting heart rhythm devices for about 40 years, implanting more than 3,000 various devices.
The goal for any heart rhythm device is to help patients improve their quality of life. Follow-up appointments are made easier with the phone- or web-based technology that allows patients’ devices to be monitored by their physician.
Electrophysiology (EP) is a specialized field of cardiology focusing on diagnosing and treating heart rhythm disturbances. During an EP study, electrodes are guided through blood vessels to your heart and used to test the function of your heart's electrical system. This can identify whether you currently have or may develop heart rhythm problems.
An EP procedure called an ablation can correct heart rhythm problems (arrhythmias). Ablation typically uses catheters — long, flexible tubes inserted through a vein in your groin and threaded to your heart — to correct structural problems in your heart that cause an arrhythmia.
We are the only organization to offer electrophysiology in west-central Wisconsin.
