    Visiting a patient

    Question: When is visitation?

Answer: For patients involved in the residential programs, there will be an initial period of three to five days that they are in “therapeutic observation” when no visiting will be allowed. We offer visiting hours to approved visitors in our residential and extended care units during the following days and times:

    Residential Adult Men

    Saturdays and Sundays, 1 - 3 p.m.

    Extended Care

    Saturdays, 1 - 3 p.m.

    Sundays and Holidays, 2 - 5 p.m.

Please note that visitors must be pre-approved and check in at the main lobby before proceeding to the unit for visitation. Visitors are also asked to respect several aspects of our program:

    Confidentiality of the patients

    • Due to the potential and actual experience of the violation of patient privacy and confidentiality through the use of current cell phone technology, cell phones are not allowed on the unit.
    • Please be respectful of other patients’ privacy and not share with others outside of our program who you see on our units.

    Food

    • Individually wrapped candy is allowed if store bought, however all other pop, food or liquids of any type are not allowed on the unit.
    • You may bring store purchased items to the unit for birthdays and holidays only
    • Homemade items, fast food and snacks are not allowed on the unit
    • Families can purchase soda for $1.50 on our unit.

    Valuables/Medications

    • You will be asked to leave all valuables and medications off of the unit when you visit.
    • Abstinence from mood-altering chemicals
    • We expect visitors will not be under the influence of alcohol or other mood-altering chemicals during their visits and participation at Fountain Centers. We reserve the right to request a breathalyzer or urine drug screen of those who are suspected of being under the influence prior to allowing a visitation.
