OWATONNA, Minn. — Jibril Elabe, M.D., a hospitalist, has joined the Mayo Clinic Health System in Owatonna. Hospitalists are physicians who care for a broad spectrum of patients in the hospital setting. Although Dr. Elabe is a Mayo Clinic Health System physician, he will care for patients at the Owatonna Hospital, part of Allina Health.
“I am very excited to join Mayo Clinic Health System,” says Dr. Elabe. “I look forward to treating patients at the Owatonna Hospital.
Dr. Elabe earned his medical degree at the Somali National University, Faculty of Medicine, in Mogadishu, Somalia. He completed his family medicine residency program at the University of Minnesota, in Minneapolis. He is a board-certified family medicine physician. Dr. Elabe has special interest in research in a variety of disciplines.
“Dr. Elabe is a very experienced physician who had dedicated this professional work to caring for hospitalized patients,” says Brian Bunkers, M.D., President and CEO, Mayo Clinic Health System in Faribault and Owatonna. “We are very pleased to have him join our team.”
Dr. Elabe joined the Mayo Clinic Health System on June 26, and will soon begin seeing patients at the Owatonna Hospital, part of Allina Health.
