To commemorate the grand opening of a new 92,000 square-foot facility on the south end of Cannon Falls, Mayo Clinic Health System is planning an open house celebration July 25, 2014, that will include festivities for the entire family.
From food to fireworks, the celebration will feature something for everyone.
The event kicks off at 2:30 p.m., with a ribbon cutting ceremony followed by guided tours of the new building from 3-7 p.m. The tours will feature a behind-the-scenes look at rooms such as the surgical suite, the Emergency Department, clinic exam and procedure rooms and much more. Other highlights of the celebration include:
- Free food and refreshments
- Live music from Ray Sands and the Polka Dots
- Tours of local emergency vehicles and Mayo One (4 p.m.)
- Bounce houses and kids’ activities
- Fireworks display at John Burch Park in downtown Cannon Falls at dusk
Free shuttle service will run from 1:30-7:30 p.m. Attendees should plan to park at Cannon Falls High School parking lot located at 820 Minnesota St., Cannon Falls. Shuttles will depart every 10-15 minutes. Parking on-site at the new facility will be limited.
In the new location patients can expect a seamless experience in a collaborative and healing environment. Private inpatient rooms, a meditation space and comfortable lounge waiting areas will better serve patients and their families. Through innovative technologies and state-of-the-art equipment, Mayo Clinic care is available close to home.
Clinic, lab, radiology and rehabilitation appointments will begin in the new facility Monday, Aug. 4. All emergency services, surgeries and hospitalizations will begin at Noon, Thursday, Aug. 7.
