AUSTIN, Minn. — Express Care at Mayo Clinic Health System in Austin opened early May, and a ribbon-cutting was held on May 24 to mark the occasion. The Express Care is located inside the new Austin Hy-Vee.
Mayo Clinic Health System – Albert Lea and Austin leadership, physicians, Express Care staff, and Austin Area Chamber of Commerce ambassadors celebrated the opening with a ribbon cutting ceremony and tour of the Express Care clinic.
Express Care is an extension of primary care offerings and is intended for non-emergency services such as treatment for conditions like sore throats, sinus infections, colds and flu, and minor cuts. Care is provided by nurse practitioners and physician assistants to patients 18 months through 75 years, and visits are included in a patient’s electronic health record.
Express Care offers convenient, extended hours on weekdays and weekends: Monday – Friday, 8 a.m. – 8 p.m., Saturday and Sunday, 9 a.m. – 5 p.m.
