RED WING, Minn. — A licensed psychologist recently joined the team of behavioral health providers at Mayo Clinic Health System in Red Wing. In addition to seeing patients privately, Emily Sander, Psy.D. will also see patients with mild-to-moderate mental health illnesses in the primary care setting as part of the Integrated Behavioral Health (IBH) team.
Dr. Sander began practicing in Red Wing in early April. She completed her postdoctoral fellowship at the University of Cincinnati University Health Services in Ohio. She earned her doctor of psychology degree at Xavier University in Cincinnati, Ohio, and has an undergraduate degree from Thomas More College in Crestview Hills, Kentucky.
Dr. Sander enjoys seeing patients of all ages and levels of concerns. She also has special interest in working with adolescents and adults with high function autism, families in conflict, and individuals with sleep problems.
“Giving people those quick tips and helping them create new skills to achieve better sleep or manage stress is really rewarding,” says Dr. Sander. “I love to meet new patients, especially children, and look forward to being a part of the behavioral health team.”
Outside of the office, Dr. Sander enjoys exploring the outdoors and spending time with her husband and two young boys.
