Construction continues at Mayo Clinic Health System in Sparta. The second phase of the campus expansion project includes a new emergency department, a larger radiology department and remodeled lobby area.
“Construction is moving along quickly and we expect to be complete in early 2012,” says Kim Hawthorne, administrator for Mayo Clinic Health System in Sparta.
The lobby area remodel will begin in mid October.
Starting October 13, registration will be temporarily relocating to the new emergency department registration area until lobby construction is complete. To register, patients can use either the canopy entrance or the new emergency department entrance located on the west side of the clinic building. These doors will provide access to the following areas: clinic, hospital, cardiac rehabilitation, optical and lab.
- Canopy Entrance: 6am - 9pm, Monday – Sunday
- New Emergency Department Entrance (temporary registration location): 7am - 6pm, Monday – Thursday, 7am – 5pm, Friday
- Current Emergency Department Entrance: Open 24/7
Canopy Entrance Closing for Lobby Demolition
Because of demolition work in the lobby, the canopy entrance will be closed from 5pm on Friday, October 14 until 5pm on Saturday, October 15. During this time, patients and visitors will only be able to enter from the current emergency room entrance, which is open 24/7.
The clinic will be open regular hours on Saturday, October 15 from 8am – Noon for walk-in patients. To get to the clinic, please use the new emergency department entrance.
The lobby area is expected to be complete by the end of December. Sparta staff will be available to assist patients and visitors with way finding during lobby construction.
