CANNON FALLS, Minn. — The holiday season will be a bit brighter for children who might not otherwise have much in their stockings. Staff at Mayo Clinic Health System in Cannon Falls, Red Wing and Lake City collected items to give to Toys for Tots. This is the sixth consecutive year of participation for Cannon Falls staff and the first year that staff have also donated items to a local family in need through the Adopt-a-Family program. Dozens of toy donations were given by staff and patients.
In Cannon Falls, Mayo Clinic Health System department leaders and primary care providers also exchanged gifts with each other and all of those gifts were in turn donated to Toys for Tots. Employees presented gifts in honor of another colleague on December 16. Items included games, puzzles, crafts, dolls, plush animals, sports equipment and more.
Numerous items were also collected to help a local family during the holiday season through the Adopt-a-Family program. Home goods, toys, wrapping paper, clothing and other gifts were collected. Cannon Falls clinic and laboratory staff assisted in preparing to bring the collected items bring to the family.
