The Mayo Clinic Health System in New Prague Sleep Lab is an outpatient service for diagnosing and treating sleep-related disorders. Patients are treated for a number of conditions including:
- Excessive somnolence (unusual sleepiness)
- Sleep-related breathing disorders
- Periodic leg movements
- Parasomnias (sleepwalking, teeth grinding, sleep terrors)
You must be referred to the Sleep Lab by your primary care physician. If the sleep medicine specialist determines you are a candidate for a sleep study, you will be scheduled to spend a night sleeping in the Mayo Clinic Health System in New Prague Sleep Lab, located on the on the first floor of the hospital. The sleep lab bedrooms are hotel-like: homey, softly lit, and comfortable. The technical equipment and technicians are housed in a separate room from the sleeping room, where they may observe and monitor patients in order to prescribe appropriate treatments.
