High School Outreach
Through our Sports Medicine program, the medical center's licensed athletic trainers (AT) provide free outreach services to area athletes at Menomonie, Boyceville, Glenwood City, Colfax and Elmwood high schools.
- The AT evaluates injuries sustained by student-athletes during school sponsored athletic programs. This includes care of acute injuries, management of chronic injuries, rehabilitation follow-up and consultation for injury prevention.
- The AT consults with student-athletes at your school weekly when school is in session. If a student-athlete needs a consultation on a day the AT is not at the school, call 715-233-7740 to schedule a free consultation at Red Cedar Physical Rehabilitation.
- The AT provides coverage at select home events. Contact sports take priority when there are schedule conflicts. Please contact your AT in advance if you are hosting an event you would like prioritized for AT coverage. The AT will arrive 15 minutes prior to the start of the event.
- Communication between the AT and coaching staff or physicians will occur as appropriate for the injured student-athlete’s continuity of care unless the student-athlete or parent (if the student-athlete is a minor) sends written revocation to Mayo Clinic Health System - Red Cedar’s Release of Information Department
Licensed athletic trainers also consult at University of Wisconsin-Stout.
