The Respiratory Therapy department offers the following services for patients of all ages:
The program goal is to reduce Emergency department visits for patients with asthma, improve continuity of care through patient action plans and cover all aspects of asthma education. The physician referred program consists of at least two sessions.
The medical center provides respiratory care to all hospitalized (inpatients) who need it, including administering nebulizer treatments, oxygen, vents and pulmonary function tests and education about smoking cessation.
The Pulmonary Rehabilitation Program is for patients suffering from any of the many pulmonary diseases. Classes are held Tuesdays and Thursdays from 1 to 2:30 p.m.
Once a graduate from the initial program, participants can join the Next Step Program to maintain their new level of health. These classes are held Tuesdays and Thursdays from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. Talk to your provider if you are interested in this program.
The medical center provides 24/7 outpatient respiratory care coverage.
Because the medical center is a Tobacco Free Facility, our staff provides bedside counseling for all smokers to help them in their decision to quit.
