Infusion Therapy

Infusion therapy is the intravenous (IV) administration of medicines and nutrition. Patients include those who need pain management, are dehydrated, have nutrition deficiencies, infections, diabetes, cancer or renal failure.

Infusion therapy decreases time spent in clinics, hospitals and nursing homes. It allows patients to return to work or school with a decreased risk of infections. Out-patient status decreases medical costs and allows the patient more time with friends and family in their own environment.

Treatments include:

  • Chemotherapy
  • Antibiotics
  • Fluids for dehydration
  • Migraine protocol/pain management
  • Arthritis treatment

In 2008, Erica Shultz was busy as ever as a wife, mother, nurse and avid runner with a commendable 3-mile daily routine. While she rarely had free time, her active life was a healthy one. One day, however, Erica developed a nagging cough that wouldn’t quit, and she began to lose weight.
