Body Surgery

Procedures available:

Tummy tuck: Abdominoplasty is a procedure performed to remove excess skin and fat from the lower abdomen. The abdominal muscles are most frequently tightened during the same procedure. This surgery flattens the abdomen and provides an improved contour. A standard abdominoplasty will leave a scar which extends from the hipbone down to the pubic region and up to the other hipbone. Less involved procedures known as modified abdominoplasties and mini-abdominoplasty may be able to be utilized for more specific problems with a much smaller scar. Tummy tucks are often performed in combination with liposuction for body contouring.

Arm lift: Brachioplasty is the removal of the loose, saggy skin between the elbow and armpit. Liposuction can be an important component of Brachioplasty. This procedure is frequently needed after significant weight loss.

Liposuction and body contouring: The safe removal of localized collections of excess body fat through small incisions. This is often used in conjunction with a tummy tuck to tighten the skin and muscles of the abdominal area and aid in body contouring.

Body contouring (after weight loss): This procedure can help after rapid weight loss, which may result in unmanageable and sometimes unhealthy excess skin. Selective procedures will remove the excess skin and reveal the person who has worked diligently toward a healthier and trimmer body.

Skin cancer excision and reconstruction: Skin cancer comes in several forms and is one of the most common cancers in the United States. These lesions include basal cell carcinoma, squamous cell carcinoma and melanoma. Consultation for complete removal of these lesions and for treatment will help determine the best reconstructive option following cancer treatment.
