Billing and Payment

We make every effort to provide you with a clear understanding of our medical services and related charges.

Insurance Coverage:
Questions regarding such items as covered services, deductibles, co-pays, and explanation of benefits reports should be directed to your insurance carrier. The bill for services you receive from Franciscan Healthcare will be after your insurance coverage (if applicable) applies.

Payment Policy:
Charges not covered by your insurance are payable in full within 30 days of receiving the bill. We accept payment by cash, check, credit and debit card.

eStatements and Online Bill Pay:
Franciscan Healthcare offers two means to pay your bill online. We recommend that you enroll in our eStatement program so that all of your transactions and statements are handled electronically. We also offer you the option to pay your bill from your bank account or via credit card without registering.

Patient Account Representatives:
If you need assistance understanding your bill or have questions regarding your ability to pay a bill, contact one of our Patient Account Representatives as soon as you can. They are able to provide you with assistance and information as appropriate. They are available during normal business hours at (800)603-2500 (toll free).

Provider Based Billing:
Provider based billing applies to patients with Medicare, Medicare Advantage and Tricare insurance plans for services received in the following Franciscan Healthcare locations: La Crosse, La Crescent Clinic, Onalaska Clinic, Holmen Clinic and Caledonia Clinic. This type of billing is used for services provided in a clinic or department which is considered to be a part of the hospital.
