Bone densitometry or DXA uses very low dose radiation to measure bone mineral density (BMD). It is the most common and accurate test to diagnose osteopenia or osteoporosis and evaluate the likelihood of bone fractures. After completion of the exam, a radiologist will interpret the scores and send a report to your health care provider.
