The Mayo Clinic Health System in Fairmont Sleep Lab is an outpatient service for diagnosing and treating sleep-related disorders. Patients are treated for a number of conditions including:
- Excessive somnolence (unusual sleepiness)
- Sleep-related breathing disorders
- Periodic leg movements
- Parasomnias (sleepwalking, teeth grinding, sleep terrors)
You must be referred to the Sleep Lab by your primary care physician. If the sleep medicine specialist determines you are a candidate for a sleep study, you will be scheduled to spend a night sleeping in the Mayo Clinic Health System in Fairmont Sleep Lab, located in the hospital lower level, where patients are observed and monitored and information is used to prescribe appropriate treatments for sleeplessness or apnea.
