Behavioral Health Post-Op Support Group
This group is led by a licensed behavioral health provider and is available to address any emotional needs you might have after surgery. Topics covered in this group may include issues with body image, how weight loss has impacted the dynamics of family and friend relationships, weight regain and more. The group meets on the fourth Thursday of every month from 5 to 6 p.m. on the third floor of the Amalia Building. Preregistration is not necessary, and there is a fee for attendance. This group is facilitated by a bariatric coordinator and is open to patients who have had bariatric surgery, along with those preparing for surgery. Family members and friends of patients also are welcome. The purpose of this group is to create an environment where members can actively help each other achieve or maintain weight loss and an active lifestyle. Information also will be provided to promote success following weight loss surgery.
