The goal of Mayo Clinic Health System in Eau Claire Hospital’s PGY1 Pharmacy Residency Program is to provide residents with advanced knowledge and skills in a variety of clinical practice areas within a fully integrated health system. The purpose of the program is to build on Doctor of Pharmacy education and outcomes to contribute to the development of clinical pharmacists responsible for medication-elated care of patients with a wide range of conditions. The program has a special focus on acute, clinical and ambulatory care patient populations and the transitions between settings. Additionally, the program supports development of skills to become eligible for board certification, to become eligible for postgraduate year two (PGY2) pharmacy residency training, and to prepare for a position in pharmacy leadership or teaching in clinical practice.
