Pain Management

The Pain Clinic is a multidisciplinary practice of physicians and other health care professionals from a variety of specialties, including anesthesiology, orthopedic surgery, neurology, psychology, nursing, physical and occupational therapy. We offer evaluation and treatment of pain in the hospital, as well as outpatient setting.
Our goal is to offer a comprehensive range of soothing treatment options that not only address the painful condition, but also the impact of pain on the patient.

  • Reduce or eliminate pain
  • Increase stamina and strength to improve functionality
  • Improve sleep, work, leisure activities and the overall quality of life

Conditions treated
We treat pain resulting from:

  • Injury
  • Strain
  • Surgical complication
  • Degenerative arthritis
  • Certain forms of infection
  • Autoimmune diseases
  • Complications of diseases (diabetes, stroke, cancer)

Treatment options
Depending on the ailment, treatment can involve psychological counseling, physical therapy, oral medications, injections, surgery, and implantation of devices. Since pain and medications may impair physical skills and judgment, it is strongly recommended that patients be accompanied by a chaperone for appointments involving treatment. Some procedures may require hospitalization.

Making an appointment
Patients need a referral from their primary care provider in order to be seen in the Pain Clinic. Your primary care provider may request pain consultation during your hospitalization, or on an outpatient basis. After completion of treatment, the Pain Clinic staff will coordinate with your primary care physician to arrange follow-up visits when necessary.
