When you have diabetes, you discover that there is a lot to learn. You may have questions about nutrition and meal planning, physical activity, blood glucose monitoring or medications including insulin injections.

Our goal is to teach you and your family how to manage your disease. We believe that through knowledge and support you can achieve healthy living and greater independence.

Mayo Clinic Health System in Austin offers individual and group classes for people with diabetes and their families.

  • Insulin adjustments
  • Continuous subcutaneous insulin infusion (insulin pump) instruction and initiation

The diabetes patient education program at Mayo Clinic Health System in Austin has been awarded recognition by the American Diabetes Association in accordance with the national standards for diabetes patient education programs.

Located in the Patient Resource Center - west of the information desk in the Lobby.
