Nursing Homes Receive National Honors

October 15, 2013

Satilla Care Center and Pierce County Nursing Home have been honored with Excellence In Action awards from My InnerView by National Research Corporation. This honor recognizes long-term care organizations that achieve the highest levels of satisfaction excellence, as demonstrated by overall resident or employee satisfaction scores that fall within the top 10 percent of My InnerView's nationwide database.

"Every year, we are exceptionally honored to award these fine organizations for their excellent quality and care given toward their residents and employees," said Susan Henricks, president and chief operating officer, National Research. "Every day, these providers are making a difference in the lives of residents, families and employees to ensure they are receiving the utmost quality of care."

My InnerView by National Research Corporation, an independent research firm, awarded this honor to only 628 nursing homes in the nation. Qualifying nursing homes, in addition to assisted living and independent living communities (over 8,500), must have completed a customer or workforce satisfaction survey in 2012. Winners also must have achieved a minimum of 10 responses, with a minimum of 30 percent response rate, and scored in the top 10 percent of qualifying facilities on the question "What is your recommendation of this facility to others" or "What is your recommendation of this facility as a place to work?" in terms of the percentage of respondents rating the facility as "excellent."

The award was presented to Satilla Care Center, which scored in the top 10 percent for both workforce and resident satisfaction, and Pierce County Nursing Home, which scored in the top 10 percent for resident satisfaction.

“We are extremely pleased that our nursing homes and our caregivers have been singled out with these special awards,” says Kenneth Calamia, M.D., CEO, Mayo Clinic Health System in Waycross. “Both family and workforce satisfaction are things we take very seriously, just as we strive for excellence in everything we do. We are very thankful for these awards, and I know they will inspire us to continue to dedicate ourselves to making our nursing homes better places for residents to receive care and for employees to work.”
