Kenneth T. Calamia, M.D., CEO, Mayo Clinic Health System in Waycross, Ga., recently received a letter from the Armstrong Institute for Patient Safety and Quality at Johns Hopkins Medicine. Based on the institute's recent analysis of publicly available data on performance of U.S. hospitals on the Hospital Consumer Assessment of Health Providers and Systems Survey (HCAHPS), Mayo Clinic Health System in Waycross was identified as a "top performer" in the domains of Nurse Communication and Staff Responsiveness. The hospital was nationally ranked among the top three positions for medium-size hospitals.
“This is a remarkable achievement, and we are extremely gratified for the efforts it took to reach this accomplishment,” says Dr. Calamia. “We look forward to receiving many more similar letters in the future, and we know our staff won’t let us down.”
