St. James welcomes new Family Medicine provider

November 02, 2016

ST. JAMES, Minn. — Mayo Clinic Health System in St. James recently introduced Cinda Wallace, nurse practitioner, Family Medicine, as the newest member of the provider team. Wallace started Nov. 2 and focuses on providing comprehensive care services, including treatment for ongoing conditions, well-child examinations and annual checkups for adult patients.

“I’ve been a part of Mayo Clinic Health System for many years,” says Wallace. “I’m also proud to call Minnesota home. My husband has been farming here for the past 36 years, and practicing in a smaller community is something I truly enjoy.”

Wallace is a graduate of the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis and received her master’s degree in nursing from Minnesota State University, Mankato. Prior to her arrival in St. James, Wallace had been practicing family medicine with Mayo Clinic Health System in Lake Crystal for 19 years.

“Communication between my patient and me is important,” says Wallace.” Finding the cause of an issue and educating people about what is going on and how we can help them is my end goal.

“We’re excited to have Cinda join our team of experienced providers in St. James,” says Amy Long, administrator of Mayo Clinic Health System in St. James. “Connecting area patients to Mayo Clinic and the exact care they need, close to home, is an important service we are proud to provide.”

Wallace appreciates having the support of Mayo Clinic and the opportunity to collaborate with specialists in Rochester to offer the right care for her patients.

Away from the office, Wallace enjoys quilting, photography and is active in her local 4-H group. She is also a self-described voracious reader of five-star books and a closet meteorologist who loves discussing the weather.
