RED WING, Minn. — Mayo Clinic Health System in Red Wing will be offering viniyoga classes starting Tuesday, Sept. 20, from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m., and Wednesday, Sept. 21, from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Michele Hoffman, a certified yoga therapist at Mayo Clinic Health System in Red Wing, will teach the introductory class.
The six week sessions cost $50 per person or $43 for individuals age 65 and over.
The class will be health-focused and accessible to people of all ages and abilities, including beginners.
The class is small, and individuals will learn how to adapt the practices to make them comfortable and effective for their health condition. The class format includes a check-in, movement and breathing practices, and a guided relaxation practice. Participants will learn tools to release tension, increase flexibility and core strength, improve posture and balance, and relax the mind and body.
“The practice of viniyoga not only increases health, but improves well-being,” comments Hoffman. “Set a positive intention by taking time to do something for your mind and body.”
The class will take place in the cafeteria at the Professional Community Center at Mayo Clinic Health System in Red Wing, 1407 W. Fourth St.
