Mayo Clinic Health System offers simplified way to fill your prescription

November 24, 2015

RED WING, Minn.—Looking for a convenient way to get your prescription filled? InstyMeds, a machine that dispenses medication 24 hours a day, seven days a week, will be installed at Mayo Clinic Health System in Red Wing December 1, 2015.

The medication dispensing system has the ability to dispense several different prescription medications including those for common conditions such as an earache, cold and flu, allergies, strep throat, bronchitis, and pneumonia, to name a few. The InstyMeds kiosk will be located in the Emergency Department patient waiting room at Mayo Clinic Health System in Red Wing and will be available to patients who receive a valid InstyMeds prescription from an emergency medicine or urgent care provider at Mayo Clinic Health System in Red Wing.

“InstyMeds allows patients to access small, one-time fill medications at any time of the day. This is especially convenient for patients who are prescribed a medication in the emergency room or urgent care during evening or night hours when all other pharmacies in the area are closed,” says Ryan Hinman, Pharm.D., pharmacy director at Mayo Clinic Health System in Cannon Falls, Lake City and Red Wing.

InstyMeds automated system offers patients a safe and secure way to access their prescription medications at any time. To access medications, patients simply enter the voucher code that is located on the voucher printed by the prescribing provider, select the method of payment and the medication is directly dispensed.
