Mayo Clinic Health System in Red Wing welcomes new obstetrician and gynecologist

September 17, 2014

RED WING, Minn. — A new obstetrician and gynecologist (OB/GYN) recently joined the team of women’s health providers at Mayo Clinic Health System in Red Wing.

Emily Linklater, D.O. began practicing in Red Wing on Sept. 8, 2014. She completed residency at University of Missouri — Kansas City. She earned her doctor of osteopathy degree at Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences in Kansas City, Missouri, and has an undergraduate degree from Kansas State University in Manhattan, Kansas.

Dr. Linklater enjoys the full spectrum of OB/GYN. She also has a special interest in adolescent gynecology, infertility, high risk pregnancy, menopause, and urogynecology.

The opportunity to foster long-term bonds with patients is what attracted Dr. Linklater to the specialty of Obstetrics and Gynecology.

"I believe a woman's relationship with her obstetrician and gynecologist is uniquely different than any other physician-patient relationship,” says Dr. Linklater. “I have the amazing opportunity to care for and educate a woman throughout all of her life's transitions and discuss topics that are intimately important to her.  By cultivating a comfortable environment and concentrating on the whole person, I hope to empower my patients to make healthy and personal health care decisions."

Outside of the office, Dr. Linklater enjoys spending time with her husband, Chris, their daughter, Emersyn (2), and their very lovable black lab.  Dr. Linklater also enjoys photography, travel, hiking and sailing.
