Mayo Clinic Health System welcomes a new provider

September 29, 2016

OWATONNA, Minn. — Mayo Clinic Health System in Owatonna is pleased to announce the addition of Lynsi Romportl, D.N.P., certified nurse practitioner. She earned her doctor of nursing practice and family nurse practitioner degrees at the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis, and completed her nurse practitioner residency at Mayo Clinic in Rochester.

“Having been born and raised in New Richland just 20 minutes down the road, I am excited to return home and provide care to members of the local community,” says Romportl. “It’s fun to run into people I know, and I already feel welcome here in Owatonna.”

“As part of our effort to meet the growing needs our patients, we are very pleased to add an additional nurse practitioner, Lynsi Romportl, to our primary care team,” says Brian Bunkers, M.D. CEO at Mayo Clinic Health System in Faribault and Owatonna. “Lynsi has completed extensive additional education achieving the level of doctorate and will bring knowledge, care and compassion to our team.”

“One of the reasons I chose family medicine was because I have a wide array of interests, but two areas I am passionate about are disease prevention and health education,” says Romportl. “I enjoy the conversations I get to have with patients and their families, and it is satisfying to know that I can help empower them to become advocates for their own health.”

Romportl joined the practice on Wednesday, Sept. 21, and will begin seeing family medicine patients at a later date.
