Free CrossFit Kids class offered in Menomonie

September 27, 2016

MENOMONIE, Wis. — Kids ages 8 to 14 are invited to try out the new CrossFit Kids from 2 to 3 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 15, at Machine Shed Sports Performance, 2021 S. Broadway, in Menomonie, in partnership with Mayo Clinic Health System.

This class is not simply a scaled-down version of CrossFit exercise; it is absolutely CrossFit-geared and designed for participants’ age and specific developmental needs. There is no cost to attend this class.

“We want to show kids that there are lots of different ways to exercise,” says Tina Tharp, Community Engagement and Wellness specialist at Mayo Clinic Health System – Red Cedar in Menomonie. “Not everyone enjoys the same thing. By trying new and different types of activities, hopefully, they can find interests they enjoy and pursue throughout their lives to stay fit and healthy.”

Go to Menomonie’s Classes & Events page, or call 1-866-375-7464 (toll-free) to register by Oct. 10.

Go to the Classes & Events page at mayoclinichealthsystem.org to see what other wellness opportunities are available in your community.
