May 09, 2012

The Franciscan Healthcare Auxiliary at Mayo Clinic Health System in La Crosse recently announced the local organizations that will receive funds raised at the 26th annual Tiny Tim Gala Benefit, Festival of Trees and Jingle Bell Brunch to be held November 16-18 in The Waterfront Cargill Room.

In the past 25 years, the Tiny Tim events have raised over $825,000 in support of area organizations who share our interest in healthy communities and a high quality of life.

Proceeds from this year’s events will go to:

St. Clare Health Mission, a clinic serving the medical needs of low income, uninsured residents of our area staffed by volunteer medical staff, social workers, and community volunteers. Funding will go towards needed dental services at the La Crosse clinic and applied toward fulfilling patient prescriptions in the Monroe County clinic.

Boys and Girls Club – Providing for youth of the greater La Crosse area with core program areas focused on academic success, character and leadership development, and healthy lifestyles. Funding will be applied towards “Adopt-A-Kid” scholarships for children of families that aren’t able to afford Boys and Girls Club membership and activity fees.

YWCA Casa For Kids Program – The Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) for Kids program operated by the YWCA of the Coulee Region supports and promotes court-appointed volunteer advocacy for abused and neglected children so that they can thrive in safe, permanent homes. Funding will support efforts for further building this quality programming and applied towards volunteer recruitment and training efforts.

Franciscan Healthcare Auxiliary Programs - Funds will be used to support various Auxiliary programs.

Bluff Country Family Resources - A special raffle will be used to purchase supplies for Bluff Country Family Resources’ “Starting Over Shelf” helping victims of domestic violence meet their daily health and hygiene needs. The program provides crisis intervention for victims of domestic violence, sexual assault, child abuse and homelessness.
