FAIRMONT, Minn. — Mayo Clinic Health System today announced the birth of the first baby of the New Year in its Fairmont hospital.
Easton Glenn Ludacer, a boy, was born on Wednesday, Jan. 6, 2016, at 5:26 p.m. to parents Nita Borchardt and Eric Ludacer of Fairmont, Minnesota. Easton weighed 6 pounds, 13 ounces and was 20½ inches long at birth. He has two older sisters.
There were 229 babies born at Mayo Clinic Health System in Fairmont in 2016. That compares with 242 births at the medical center in 2014.
According to the Department of Health’s Office of Vital Records, the most popular names for babies born in Minnesota in 2015 were Olivia, Emma, Evelyn and Ava for girls and Jackson, Henry, Liam and Oliver for boys.
According to BabyCenter.com, the most popular names for babies born in the United States in 2015 were Sophia, Emma, Olivia, Ava and Mia for girls and Jackson, Liam, Lucas and Noah for boys.
