Appointment reminder service now available

December 30, 2014

RED WING, Minn. — With the New Year comes a new convenient tool to help remind Mayo Clinic Health System patients of their next clinic, lab or rehabilitation services appointment. Beginning in January, 2015, patients will receive automatic appointment reminders.

Two days in advance of the scheduled appointment, patients will receive a phone call that allows them to follow the prompts to confirm or reschedule the upcoming appointment.

“Many of our patients have been asking for this service. We understand life gets busy and sometimes appointments can be forgotten, especially if scheduled far in advance,” says Tom Witt, M.D., CEO and president of Mayo Clinic Health System in Cannon Falls, Lake City and Red Wing. “If patients are unable to keep an appointment and can let us know a few days ahead of time by responding to the appointment reminder, we can help another patient who is seeking care to be seen sooner.”

If preferred, patients may also choose to receive a text reminder sent to their mobile device. Patients can respond instantly to the text message to change their appointment if needed. To sign up for text reminders, text MCHS to 622622. To stop receiving text notifications, text STOP to 622622. Standard message and data rates may apply.

Appointment reminders are available to patients at Mayo Clinic Health System locations in Cannon Falls, Lake City, Red Wing, Zumbrota, Plainview, Wabasha, Alma, Wis., and Ellsworth Wis.
