EAU CLAIRE, Wis. — Nurse practitioner Sarah Staff recently joined the Hospital Medicine Department at Mayo Clinic Health System in Eau Claire. She will be dedicated full time to taking care of patients admitted to the hospital.
Staff earned her bachelor’s degree in nursing from Viterbo University in La Crosse, Wisconsin, and her master’s degree in nursing from the Concordia University in Mequon, Wisconsin.
Prior to joining Mayo Clinic Health System, Staff served as a nurse practitioner in Emergency Medicine at Gunderson Tri County Memorial Hospital in Whitehall, Wisconsin.
Staff is certified by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners.
Hospitalists provide continuity of care for patients. Because they are located in the hospital, they are available to follow up on tests, procedures and treatments throughout a patient’s stay, and for discussion with patients and families. As a result, problems can be detected earlier, and complex medical issues can be managed better.
“I enjoy hospital medicine because helping patients through a disease process or difficult time in their life is rewarding,” says Staff.
In her spare time, Staff enjoys reading and spending time with her husband and five children.
